Seasons (Detail)

The pear is an age-old symbol for female fetility. When you invert a pear, it reflects the shape of the female womb. This sculptural object of about 5 inches high opens up to an anatomical depiction of a fetus within the womb. Inside the pear, I've acid-etched a poem that I wrote that relates the trimesters of development to the changing seasons of nature. This piece comes with the stand and base shown in the adjacent photo.
